September 09, 2010

Recently my blog is lack of make up, so I decide to swatch and do a tutorial about how to achieve pretty pink lips. Im sorry if the pictures resolutions are not that good. My hand was trembling since Im not used to do photos tutorial. I'm still learning and not even claim that I'm good in this case. This is just a tutorial about HOW I DO it the way I always do. This may work for you, and may not

Everyone's techniques are different, and the results that I've got here may be different for every lips or perhaps the lightning of my room just showed it the way it is. After all, let's start!!

In this post, I'm trying to achieve the real color of the lipstick and lipgloss, yet for its long lasting. It doesnt mean it wont smudge easily, but at least it will make your lipstick stay longer than usual. Also, notice how the lipstick will turn out to be different when its applied on your own lips? Why the color on the lipstick is so nice but when applied on you, it doesnt look similar than its real color?

This time, I'm gonna show you, how to achieve the real color of your lipstick, with a little simple trick that everyone can do!!!

1. This is my bare lips. I have pale lips in fact

2. Apply your lip conditioner

Or perhaps, your lip balm!

This helps protect your lips from the lipstick chemical! I use Revlon Lip Conditioner, I dont really like the fragrance, but it works pretty well on me! My lips is usually dry and break out easily whenever I put lipstick, and I hate it! Since the lipstick always looked ugly and dry!!! You all need to give this a try! And its affordable :)

moisturizing is the key for perfect lips!

3. Put on some Lip Concealer

or in my case, foundation..

even though, I dont recommend you all to use foundation everyday, since its not made to work that well even though it can be used for concealing your lips. The results even is not as good as lip concealer, but i ran out of my lip concealer and is re-stocking it again. Until then, I need to bear with foundation :(

after all, I hardly use this technique. So its okay :)

apply a little amount of lip concealer on your lips, and dab it lightly until you neutralize your lip color..

if you want to secure it in place, you can dab some translucent loose powder lightly there

This is the most important part to achieve your true lipstick color. Ever notice how the color turns out different when you swatch it on the back palm of your hand than when you swipe it on your lips? Mostly you will think that the color is only nice on the hand, but not on the lips

This is the secret!

we need to neutralize the color of our lips to our skin tone, which will lead us to the true color

Makes sense, no?

mine look like ugly like this after neutralized =

but its okay, this is what we want it to be.. move to the next step!

4. Swipe your lipstick!

in fact, I apply it with lip brush to get neater result! Lip brush gives you better control to paint your lips,
plus your lipstick and your lip concealer wont get mixed together.

be gentle when do this, we are building the shape of our lips here!

the lipstick had already turned out well!

This time, I was using my new revlon lipstick Mocha polka

what a nice pink lip color there!

5. Finish Off with Lip Gloss

Make sure you dab it lightly there, and dont drag. It will make the lipgloss opaque!

Because it will ruin all the good shape of lipstick that we have made. And don't put too much. We just need a little bit of another pink color and a glossy one, not the too-much-lipstick! You dont want to look like you just ate a lot of tempuras!

Be careful when you're doing this, dont mess up!

Dab the gloss lightly on your lips to achieve pretty pink lips!

This time, I was using NYX Round Lip Gloss in Ballerina Pink!

so barbie-ish for me! haha
