Review : The Balm Nude Tude EyeshadowOctober 07, 2012
Have you ever seen of this palette before?? I know this palette and always want to try this ever since Promise Phan used this a lot on her videos! Michelle Phan is spotted using this palette a few times too, so I am really curious! We all know that the most famous palette is Urban Decay Naked Palette, and so The Balm comes with "Nude Tude" eyeshadow palette that's slightly cheaper than Urban Decay!
BUT, the quality is what the matters right?? So let's find out together!
Nude' Tude palette comes in 12 natural colors, along with dual ended brushes for eye shadow and eyeliner, which I sometime use as eyebrow brush too as there's a few colors that's great to fill my brows.. The palette is quite thin, so it's travel friendly
The unique point from the balm is the decorative design is very 20's - 40's American Style! Which you can obviously tell from the female characters drawn on the palette! The eyeshadow names are very, sensual? And yet easy to remember! :)
Left side are completed with some shimmery colors as base. I love using Sassy to highlight my browbone and Snobby is my favorite eyeshadow on lid, while sultry is the perfect shade to contour eyes and nose, as well as fill the brows
I use Sophisticated and Seductive a lot, but you cannot abandon the other colors because it's very wearable too indeed. Completed with Serious as dark matte black and Sleek as dark matte brown, making this eyeshadow palette fulfills all you need to create make up look!
Also because it's safe colors, beginners dont have to worry about their mistake because usually these kind of colors blend easier on eyes lol if you make mistake with green or blue, it's more obvious lol
As for the brush, it's fairly decent. Not very good, yet not bad either. It's just, decent. . . :/
And eyeshadow palette won't be complete without its swatch, right?
Prepare yourself to see how great the pigmentation and the colors are!!
from left to right : Sassy, Snobby, Stubborn, Stand-offish
from left to right : Selfish, Sultry, Sophisticated, Seductive
from left to right : Sexy, Silly, Serious, Sleek

Seriously, the black eyeshadow impresses me the most but overall ALL the eyeshadows are fairly excellent as well! *jaw drops*
All goes very smooth, glides very easily, the color shows up very well, doesn't create, and last long as well!! Also the eyeshadows in this palette suitable for everyone with any skin tone, as well as its colors are very wearable so you can wear it for everyday or even create a night out look, because the colors are very versatile, yet subtle!
I got this palette from Reine Doll Shop. If you're looking for other The Balm products or eyeshadow palettes, you may visit them as they have a lot of ready stock products!
The price is expensive as it's not available in here, and it has to be imported from US, shipping is expensive, you know :x It's about 40USD in US, in here it can be about 52USD ?
Final Opinion :
- Unique character designs
- Thin palette, easy to bring along
- Comes with dual ended brushes
- The colors are very pigmented & smooth
- Comes with 12 wearable colors
If you ask me whether I love this one or Urban Decay, I must say that Urban Decay Naked Palette still wins though. Because the eyeshadows are larger, and it comes with better brush, as well as lipgloss/eye primer. Sure it's more expensive, but the additional things are much more worth it
As for the eyeshadow quality, it is very comparable, and The Balm Nude Tude comes with some pink eyeshadows that's not available in Urban Decay. In case you're bored with brown, you can get pink shadows to give more feminine look so yeah.. It has better color selection in here
All in all, it's still a great palette and worth your investment! ;)
