Review : Dolly Wink Otona Liquid Eyeliner in Black

March 08, 2013

Hello everyone! Today I am going to review my favorite eyeliner in the whole world, Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner! I have been using this eyeliner for like 3-4 years? Ever since Dolly Wink came out at SASA Malaysia, I forgot.. I used to have the old packaging one, but they've changed to Otona Collection and the polkadot one is discontinue

My dolly wink eyeliner lasted me for over than 2 years o_o
I practically used every ink inside of the eyeliner, and it doesn't dry inside like most of eyeliners. Therefore for price 1260 yen it's very worth it. I intended to buy one for myself when I was in Japan but I bought for my friend instead. Lucky me now I can easily buy it in Indo so it's okay xD

Let's go~!

So, the packaging is slightly more feminine and simple than old Dolly Wink. Though like any other drugstore brands from Japan, they have very bulky plastic packaging that attracts people. On the back side, they only have Japanese Language and doesnt provide any information regarding the product, but I dont usually bother reading it either, so yeah~ lol

Instead of polkadot, they come with little flowers to give cute and girly decoration on the eyeliner packaging.  Personally I find the old packaging is cuter and it's more contract in terms of color. The flower and background from otona collection eyeliner is somehow too pale for me

Without a doubt, the point is still same. It's a liquid eyeliner with a very very sharp and fine tip that comes in handy because it's on a pen shape. So you dont have to worry whether it will spill out or what :D

Also it's very easy to use because the length of the eyeliner is not too short so we can grasp it nicely

Nevertheless, I feel that the intensity of the liquid eyeliner is much much better than the old version! It has darker black color and I only need one line to create a dark line on my eyes. For some eyeliners, it needs a few strokes to achieve perfect pitch black color

It is also very easy to create thick and thin line because the brush quality is very good. The tip is very soft too so it doesnt drag nor hurt eyes!

It dries very fast, and it doesnt smudge easily. It is waterproof and last long on my oily eyelids! At first when you opened and tried it on the first time, it was a little bit runny, but after a while using it, the eyeliner will be on its perfect moment

The eyeliner comes in 2 colors, black and brown. And I really want to get brown next time!

I got this from Indonesia online shop though, Reine Doll Shop!

Final Opinion =

Pros :
  • Comes with feminine floral design
  • Has very sharp tip
  • Very easy to use and grip on
  • Doesn't smudge easily
  • Waterproof
  • Has intense vivid color
  • Easy to create thin and thick line
  • Last you a while, mine is 2 years!
Cons :
  • Price may be expensive and vary depending on where you bought it

The color is very intense, and it lasts you for a really long time, so it's really a worth of investment because eyeliner can really change your eye shape! And by owning a good eyeliner is never bad! For 1260 yen, I think it's not a bad price. Considering I bought it in Malaysia years ago for 15USD and it lasts me for 2 years pls lol

I always recommend it. REALLY DO~! :D

  1. It is really a bit pricy but if it lasts for 2 years like you said then I think it's worth it. The pros are also very persuading. Thanks for the review ^^

  2. Wow, 2 years?! I can't get any of these type of eyeliners to last longer than 6 months ;___; I think you have to store it in a cool place because they are pretty sensitive.. But, I want to try the new version too!
